Synspec analyzers at the Olympic Games
Air quality during the Olympic Games has been a major issue with the Chinese government since the decision by the Olympic Committee to organize the games in Beijing in August 2008. Synspec and her Chinese distributor Dadi Encon have been involved since 2006 in supplying a total of 22 analyzers of various types for monitoring the hydrocarbons in Beijing that contribute to the pollution. In August 2008 3 types of analyzers from Synspec are supplying data to the authorities: The Synspec Alpha 115 monitoring Methane and Total non methane hydrocarbons The Syntech Spectras GC955 601 BTEX monitoring benzene, toluene and xylenes The Syntech Spectras GC955 611/811 ozone precursor analyzers. The systems are placed within stadiums, along the kerbside and as background systems within and outside of the city.
