Monitoring the world-wide energy transition

Synspec ALPHA 115C, M/TNMHC analyzer

As the world is currently becoming more and more aware of an ever increasing pace of an apparent climate change, the urge to speed-up the energy transition is growing as well. Climate change is clearly a very complex phenomenon that is fueled by both biogenic (natural) and anthropogenic (human) emissions.  Hereby it must be confessed that the increased biogenic emissions most probably have been triggered by earlier anthropogenic emissions.

Right now, many governments around the globe are taking action with help of a strict legislation to speed-up the energy transition, although the long-term effectiveness of the measures is sometimes still uncertain. The earlier encouraged shift from fossil fuels to renewable-energy sources (e.g. biomass) for our power-stations is becoming more and more controversial. Monitoring of the effectiveness of the measures is therefore crucial in order to verify we are heading in the right direction. Synspec instruments help to establish the effectiveness of measures by monitoring 24/7, year in year out, the concentrations of human and natural emissions in our environment, city, or industrial areas. For instance with the Synspec Alpha series analyzers, which are able to discriminate between methane and total non-methane hydrocarbon emissions.
